Lori Marion is a registered nurse with over 16 years of experience in OB/GYN women’s health and 10 years with Dr. Y as an infertility nurse specialist. At Carolinas Fertility Institute (CFI), Lori serves as the Lead IVF Coordinator as well as the Clinical Coordinator. She oversees the day-to-day running of the office, helps plan and coordinate patient’s IVF cycles, and assists with some of the ultrasound monitoring, retrievals, and transfers.
She met Dr. Yalcinkaya in 2006 while he was running another fertility practice. She was hired as his Clinic Coordinator and one of the IVF Coordinators and joined him when he founded CFI in 2014.
“I absolutely love being able to be part of our patient’s journeys towards building their families. It is really cool to be able to help someone get pregnant and then have them come back to visit and send me pictures and updates along the way of their pregnancy,” says Lori.
She especially likes it anytime a patient has success at CFI and then returns a year or two later to try again for another baby. She’s worked with several families that have come back for their second or even their 3rd child.
Lori is a nursing school graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill. She’s married to Scott Marion, a finance director at RJ Reynolds Tobacco company, and has twin daughters Alexis and Alyssa, age 8, and Reed, her step-daughter, age 12.
Her family loves taking trips, especially Disney Cruises and trips to Disney World and her twins favorite sporting activity is soccer.
